Ihre Aufgaben

Development, design, and testing of mechanical assemblies and mechatronic components for medical devices across the entire Dornier product portfolio. The position holder works closely and in an interdisciplinary manner with all relevant technical departments, in particular Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Management.
Focus is on delivering innovative solutions that meet customer requirements as well as regulatory requirements, particularly those related to safety and effectiveness. The deliverables contribute to increasing the competitiveness and commercial success of Dornier MedTech and its subsidiaries. Solutions are provided in a cost- and time-efficient manner and by strong collaboration with stakeholders across department and operational structures.
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Developmental Responsibilities
  • Development and integration of mechatronic assemblies for complex medical systems.
  • Capturing and defining technical requirements and specifications.
  • Development of concepts for functional and mechanical safety, as well as for system integration of mechatronic components.
  • Creation of function‑ and manufacturing‑ready 3D models, technical drawings, and design documentation.
  • Analysis and implementation of concepts to reduce product costs without compromising quality, safety, or performance.
  • Create component and system specifications and other quality related documents such as risk analysis, DFMEA, test and verification reports, etc. in compliance with international requirements (CE, FDA, MHLW).
  • Planning and execution of tests to verify mechanical and system requirements, including evaluation and documentation of results.
  • Structured preparation and maintenance of bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Conducting tests to verify mechanical and mechatronic product requirements.
  • Optimization and maintenance of products and systems to ensure stable and reliable operation as part of the product lifecycle management process.
  1. Specific Responsibilities
  • Performing of engineering tasks during setup and start-up of prototypes.
  • As needed, coordinate, organize, and track engineering tasks on a task- or project-specific basis.
  • Assisting the project management with the planning of engineering-related tasks.
  • Vertretung des Engineerings in Projektteammeetings
  • Coordinate and work with third-party suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitoring of technological trends in mechanics and mechatronics, including reviews of competitors' technology.
  • Adherence to 
    1. National and international standards and regulations
    2. Requirements stated in system specifications.
    3. Project goals and costs.
    4. Process definitions in the product design and related processes.

Ihr Profil

  • Masters’s degree in science and engineering with experience in R&D
  • Specialization in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the development of systems and equipment, preferably medical devices.
  • Advanced knowledge in the design of mechanical and mechatronic systems.
  • Experience in the field of sensors, actuators and system regulation
  • Proficiency in CAD design tools for mechanical engineering, preferably PTC Pro/ENGINEER (Creo).
  • Solid experience in the manufacturing‑oriented design of mechanical assemblies.
  • In‑depth knowledge of production methods and process engineering for mechanical and mechatronic parts and assemblies.
  • Experience in preparing technical reference documentation.
  • Experience in requirements management and systems engineering.
  • Experience in performing design transfers to production

  • Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
  •  Standards knowledge: ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601
  • Knowledge in ERP system; Preferably Infor SyteLine
  • Knowledge in Multiphysics simulation, FEM
  • Pro Engineer (Creo) und Windchill, SolidWorks, Inventor, Eplan
  • Knowledge in requirement management tool such as DOORS, Polarion or CodeBeamer
